Tattoo aftercare

Saniderm

Saniderm is a self adhesive, breathable, waterproof clear dressing and is the leading form of aftercare when it comes to tattoo healing. It is quickly becoming the industry standard and has been known to help speed up healing by up to 60%.

  • Keep Saniderm dressing on for 4 days
  • You can shower with it, just be cautious and don’t soak it or completely submerge it in water.

HOW TO REMOVE:

  •  On the 4th day with the dressing on:

  1. Peel an edge, of the saniderm
  2. Let warm water and non scented antibacterial soap run down behind the dressing as you slowly peel it off.

  • Once the dressing is off:

  1. Using the Antibacterial soap and just your fingers (no scrubbing), gently wash the tattooed area.
  2. Rinse off the soap.
  3. Dry the tattoo by dabbing the area dry, do not rub dry. We suggest using a paper towel as they are usually a cleaner approach.

  • Once the tattoo is dry:

1. Using ointment, apply a small amount to the area (ask your artist for approved ointments.)

REMINDERS

  • After the dressing has been removed wash the tattoo twice a day for the first week; repeating the above process each time.
  • Do not go swimming until the tattoo has completely healed, roughly 2-3 weeks (however this can vary.)
  • Avoid excessive sweating, No Saunas, be careful when working out and try to avoid direct sunlight during the healing process.

Dont panic, just treat the process as if it is day 4 and follow the instructions above.

This can happen and it's nothing to worry about, it is the body healing itself and the dressing doing what it’s designed to do, as long as it’s not seeping out of the dressing excessively or is a dark reddish color.

This can happen, once the dressing is taken off and washed, everything will be fine!

As long as it’s not overly sensitive and causing you an issue then there is nothing to be worried about, some of the red markings can last for a while after the dressing has been taken off. But please keep an eye out for signs of an allergic reaction.
